Personality: Wary at first to those he doesn't know, Cedric will take all the time he needs to get to know someone, and will shy away from them if the other pushes him to hurry it along. However, once he gets to know someone, he will be the most loyal and steadfast friend. Loyalty and hard work are paramount to Cedric, and he doesn't take cheating, lying, or stealing lightly. He takes his role as a Prefect seriously, deducting House Points as needed when one in his House is breaking the rules.
Stubborn yet serene, competitive yet friendly, Cedric was the best choice to make the Hufflepuff Quidditch team in his third year, and is it excited to continue his promotion of Captain of the team from last year. Cedric never does anything halfway: he won't turn in a less-than-stellar parchment of homework, nor will he cancel Quidditch practice due to a little rain.
Loyal, just, and fair, Cedric is a good man and a great friend. He will always carefully consider every single detail down to the bones before he makes a decision. Some have called him 'anal' for doing things that way, but it is the
only way he will do it. The
last thing he wants is to make the
wrong decision; so he would rather take his time to come to the
right decision.
“Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”
Hometown: Ottery St. Catchpole
Father: Amos Diggory
Mother: Mrs. Diggory
Siblings: None; Only Child
Others: The Weasleys
History: Born to Mr. and Mrs. Diggory in Ottery St. Catchpole, Cedric grew up knowing the ins and outs of the Wizarding World from the moment of his birth. It was no surprise when he received his Hogwarts acceptance letter, however, and was sorted into Hufflepuff on September 1, 1989 - alongside his magical neighbors, the Weasley twins, Fred and George, who were sorted into Gryffindor.
Cedric easily made friends--when he was open enough to talk to his classmates and new strangers--but also put great stock in his coursework. His schoolwork always came first, even when he made the Hufflepuff Quidditch team Seeker in his third year, was promoted to Captain in his fifth year, and also making Prefect in his fifth year. He had an active and healthy social life, but knew how to balance it well with his schooling.
Now entering his sixth year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Cedric is looking forward to all the new things he will learn in his N.E.W.T.-level classes, reuniting with his friends whom he hasn't seen all summer (and even those he
has!), the exciting, rousing games of Quidditch, and all the magical opportunities the school year will bring.
