Personality: As a metamorphmagus, Alec is used to people asking him to change his form. Often he doesn't mind as it's an easy way of entertaining younger kids but when it happens during dates or other similar private activities he starts getting angry. Alec doesn't often get angry, as he's used to needing to control his emotions. When he does get angry though it's a sight to behold as he completely changes from his normal mild-mannered self. Alec has been described as someone who wears his heart on his sleeve, and the large reason why is because his hair acts as a mood-ring and once we've been around him long enough you can use that to gauge how he feels.

History: Marius Black was disowned from the Black family from being a squib. He was tosssed out of his family home and had to make his way in the muggle world, a world which he was never prepared for. Despite this his sisters Cassiopeia and Dorea and brother Pollux would often cover for each other when they snuck out to see Marius. Marius quickly picked up enough knowledge to survive in the muggle world and eventually got married and had a single child. After the war started he emigrated his family to New Zealand which he thought might be far enough to be safe.

Cassie Dora Blake was the sole child of Marius Black whom changed his surname to help hide himself in the muggle world. Though she didn't have magic, she was still loved by her parents and they supported her to go to university. Eventually she fell in love with a muggleborn wizard who attended the same university and gave birth to a boy, Aleksander Orion Elwyn-Blake.

From when Aleksander was born, you could see that he was different. His hair would change colours, and sometimes his features would attempt to mimic those looking at him. Because of this his parents had to constantly be careful while out in the muggle world to not break the International Statute of Secrecy. Instead of sending him out for school they ended up making alternative arrangements as while accidental magic can often be ignored, constant and uncontrollable changes to appearance aren't as easily explained to muggles. Until Alec was old enough to be able to have some control on his abilities and knew not to speak about things related to the wizarding world, his parents choose to arrange home-schooling opportunities with them both and their own parents.

Unfortunately it took along time before he had reasonable control over his metamorphmagus abilities, they chose not send him to a muggle school as it was so close to him starting at a school for witchcraft and wizardry so there wasn't much point. As a child Alec enjoyed helping his grandmother in the kitchen so it was not much of a surprise he gravitated towards potions after starting school. While he didn't particularly like most of the spells taught as he found that he excelled with the subtler spells and enchantments. During his later years he dated and experimented with both male and females, and it seemed like only those he actually knew him didn't ask him to change his form to appear like someone.

Academically Alec was in the top 33% of students in his year, and was asked to be a prefect due partly that he had learnt to keep a firm hand on his emotions to control his appearance. While he didn't become head-boy he found that he quite enjoyed aiding younger students and hosting tutoring sessions. Which helped him decided what he wanted to do with his life. After school he worked for a few years as a potion tutor, before applying to be an Assistant Potions Teacher at a school. Due to the Wenlock Tournaments many schools needed to either have more staff to teach and look after the new students or transfer teachers to both help cover subjects and be a sort of head of house for their students participating in the exchange. It was mainly luck that Alec was chosen to be sent to Hogwarts for this reason.
