“Differences of habit and language are nothing at all if our aims are identical and our hearts are open. ”
Likes: Reading, learning, magic, sewing and knitting, cooking.
Dislikes: Bullies, the meaner Slytherins, betrayal, being called a Mudblood, cockroaches.
Habits: Fiddles with her hair when she's nervous, chews on her lip when she's thinking, overanalyzes things when she has nothing better to do.
Personality: Hermione is intelligent, brave and quite independent. She's loyal to her friends and would never give up on them in their time of need. She's very hard working and she likes to look at things very logically, so that can sometimes make her come across as sceptical. She often tries to act like the voice of reason to others, and although it doesn't always work, it does have some kind of effect on her friends when they're about to do something that they'll probably regret later. She tries to think rationally and she always puts others before herself. She can come across as rather bossy at times, although she doesn't mean to be. She merely likes to steer people in the right direction. She always thinks about her words before she says them, and she doesn't like making snap decisions, although of course she'll do that if it's necessary. She can be very firm when she needs to be, although she has a secret motherly trait that she keeps well hidden. She has days where she worries far too much, and other days where her responsible attitude drops and she likes to be a little daring. To some extent, at least. She is actually very forgiving, and a huge believer that everyone deserves a second chance. When she's relaxing, she can be rather teasing and slightly sarcastic, although usually she pushes all that aside. She's friendly and tactful although sometimes her words come out wrong and she says things that she doesn't mean to. She's a huge bookworm, and not afraid to stand up for what she believes him. She's got more determination and she's less scared than people give her credit for. Hermione is very loyal to her friends and she will protect them to her grave.

History: Hermione Jean Granger was born on the 19th of September to two loving Muggle parents. She lived in a small house in London, and when she got to the age of about 4, they moved to a bigger place so that she'd have more room to run around and such. Even as a child, she was a very book-loving girl and she preferred to stay inside reading rather than go out and play and make friends. The other kids didn't like her much anyway; she came across as rather bossy even when she didn't mean to. Still, it didn't bother her too much. In fact, as a child, she became friends with the people in the books that she loved reading. But, as she got older, she began to prefer books of facts rather than made up fantasy stories. She didn't show too many signs of magic while growing up, although there were a few occasions where she did things that weren't quite...
normal. But these things were brushed off. Until, that is, when Hermione was eleven years old and got her letter of acceptance to Hogwarts school.
Her parents were very surprised. After a while, that surprise became happiness and they took her to Diagon Alley - with the instructions on the letter - and they bought the things she would need for her first year at Hogwarts. And when Hermione got on the train to go to Hogwarts, she'd read every single wizarding book she had at least three or four times over, and she'd tried - and perfected - a few very simple spells on the train to Hogwarts. She met Neville Longbottom, who had lost his toad, and she promised to help him search for it. She went through all the carriages, asking if anyone had seen the toad. And in the last one she entered, she met none other than Harry Potter. She was instantly excited, even though she tried to hide it. She couldn't help feeling a little smug when his friend, Ron Weasley, tried and failed a spell that didn't even seem like a real spell. She fixed Harry's glasses for him before marching out...well, after commenting that Ron had some dirt on his nose. At first, Hermione didn't get along too well with Ron and Harry. But, as first year went on, and they saved her from a troll, they all became friends. No matter how much Hermione pretended otherwise, she grew very fond of her two best friends, and she loved the adventures they went on; no matter how scary they were.
Her second year was slightly more eventful than her first - although that wasn't to say that her first wasn't eventful. In her second year, they found out that Harry was a Parselmouth, and that the Chamber of Secrets had been opened. A new teacher at school, Professor Lockhart, had taken Hermione's fancy but when she realized what a cowardly, self-obsessed git he was, she was instantly repulsed. She had been meant to make a Polyjuice Potion for herself, Harry and Ron, in order to find out some information, however instead of getting a hair from Millicent Bulstrode, who she was meant to be acting as, she got a hair from Millicent's cat; she grew fur and a tail and she had to remain in the hospital wing for a few weeks. Shortly after she recovered, however, she got Petrified because of seeing the Basilisk's eyes. However, she still managed to help Harry and Ron, since she'd torn out a page of a book that was about Basilisks, and on it she'd written
Pipes, which helped Harry and Ron put an end to Voldemort's plans in second year. She was very happy that they'd solved it, and congratulated them once she recovered from being Petrified.
In Hermione's third year, she adopted a furry ginger cat, who she named Crookshanks. Ron disliked Crookshanks, seeing as the cat chased his rat, Scabbers. This caused quite a few arguments between Hermione and Ron, but they eventually looked past this as a killer, Sirius Black, was on the loose, and apparently after Harry. Hermione, along with Harry and Ron, went to visit Hagrid when his Hippogriff, Buckbeak, was sentenced to death for injuring Draco Malfoy - who she later punched for being a "foul, loathsome, evil little cockroach." Hermione discovered that their new Defence against the Dark Arts teacher, Professor Lupin, was a werewolf, but she kept it quiet until very later on, when they discovered that it wasn't Sirius who killed Harry's parents, but Peter Pettigrew, who was disguised as Ron's rat, Scabbers. However, things took a turn for the worst when Lupin turned into a werewolf, since he forgot to take his potion. Sirius stopped Lupin from harming the trio and professor Snape, but that also meant he got caught by Dementors. It was up to Hermione and Harry to free him. It turned out that Hermione had been given a Time Turner at the start of the year, since she'd been taking so many lessons. After Dumbledore's subtle hints, Hermione used the Time Turner to take herself and Harry back in time to save Sirius. They also ended up saving Buckbeak, and when they freed Sirius, he took Buckbeak in order to escape.
Now in her fourth year, Hermione is determined to not only focus on her lessons, but also focus on herself and having a bit of fun, plus perhaps finding some more female friends, because while she is very fond of Harry and Ron, she needs more girls to talk to about her personal feelings, which unfortunately she can't do with the boys.
