Habits: She often runs a hand through her hair and chews on the inside of her lower lip. She is calm most of the time, but there are very few situations when she will truly freak out and look for help in the person beside her, no matter who it is.
Personality: Joan is intelligent, hardworking and has a natural flair for magic, the Charms class being her strongest point. Oftentimes she is outspoken, and despite the fact that she is usually rather determined, she also has indecisive moments, especially when faced with an utterly stressful situation. She tends to see life in distinct shades of black and white, and she will never forgive when done wrong. She tries to stay as far away from conflicts as possible and just go on with her life, finish school and keep her friends close. She strongly believes that she was placed in Slytherin only because of her heritage, but she loves her House nevertheless. She doesn’t agree with all the abuse the Slytherins perform against other students, but she rarely steps in. One thing specific to her House that she has as well is the dislike for the muggleborns.

History: Joan is the only child of two of Lord Voldemort’s most faithful followers, Thomas and Colette Tate. Both were murdered by an Auror right after Joan’s birth; he tought he killed the little girl as well, but she was lucky enough to be saved by Morganne, Colette’s sister. Morganne was single and she didn’t have children, so she decided to adopt Joan and raise her like her own child. Even though she felt the loss of a real mother and a father at times, Joan had a happy childhood along with her aunt, who offered her everything she needed. She openly talked to Joan about their family, the death of her parents and the dangers that could lie ahead for her, so it is easy to say that the girl matured very quickly. When she was eleven years old, Joan was accepted at Hogwarts. There, she was sorted into Slytherin, just like her whole family; she doesn’t necessarily believe that she belongs in this House, because she is a lot more pacifistic than her parents, her aunt and even her housemates, but she has managed to make a series of good friends here nevertheless. She tries to stay away from conflicts, even though her big mouth and her sharp tongue  have got her into trouble a few times up until now, with a few of the teachers and the students of other Houses. She is a decent student however, she is very good at Charms and a pretty good Quidditch player as well.
