“Differences of habit and language are nothing at all if our aims are identical and our hearts are open. ”
Likes: Jelly Beans and chocolate, learning new spells, charms and other helpful tricks (magical and non-magical alike), drawing and writing, hang out with friends and help others with their problems
Dislikes: Lies and intrigues, Voldemort, nosey and vain people, porridge, History of Magic
Habits: crinkles her nose when she doesn't like something, fumbles on her clothes or shifts on her feet when she's nervous, sneaks delicious treats from the kitchen by transfiguring it (mostly into books)
Personality: Liana is a good-natured and sweet young lady. Most of the time she just keeps to herself, try not to get in anybody's way, however she has a strong sense of justice and she will step in if students treat a new student meanly. She is also very protective of those around her, especially her friends and those she thinks need protecting (like first-graders). She is quite clever and creative, but she can be stubborn at times. Usually she reaches the goal she sets for herself, however she rarely forgets those who helped her get there. Since she likes learning new things and she is determined of reaching the goals she sets herself, her grades are rather good as well. She doesn't get as close as Hermione Granger, but close enough. Her friends usually describe her as smart, talented, beautiful and yet unpredictable. And Liana is rather unpredictable. She never lets anyone see what she's about to do. It is one of her strengths. It is mostly notable when someone tries to insult her or is mean to her. She simply comes up with the most unexpected reply that she can find.
Liana is brave, but not without fear. She is a little frightened of Professor Snape, mostly due to his serious face and dark looks.
“Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light.”
Hometown: Inverness, Scotland
Father: Fergus Stark
Mother: Fiona Stark née McCaffrey
Siblings: Sileas Melvina Stark (sister, 7), Ean Fergus Stark (brother, 12)
Others: Mackenzie Stark (aunt, 36), Isabelle Stark (cousin, 13), Josie Gilligan (14, best friend of Liana and Isabelle)
History: Her mother always told Liana how she was born on a stormy night in the family's home in Inverness. No matter how hard Fiona Stark prayed for the baby to wait a few more hours until the storm was over so they could get to the hospital, Liana had been ready for the world. And just like that storm that didn't stop her from being born strong and healthy, nothing ever did stop Liana from achieving the things that she set her little mind to. Even as a baby she was strong and determined. And very curious as well. She would always be on her feet exploring her surroundings, asking curious questions and always trying to learn new things.
When Liana was just about 2 years old, shortly after her brother Ean was born the small family moved onto the country in the Highlands of Scotland, living on an old farm near Tain.
Both children learned about magic and their family linage of witches and wizard from a very early age. It was mostly the reason why the family moved to the country side, thinking it was safer for their children out there with less ears to hear. Both Fergus' and Fiona's family have a long history of magic in the family and they have been well-known and respected witches and wizards once. But it seemed that all that vanished when Lord Voldemort first started the war in the wizarding world. Liana's grandparents died in that said war, fighting against Voldemort. Fiona had been very young when that battle took place and her parents had taken her into the muggle world to live with her godparents whom both were just regular humans. Fergus' parents barely survived the fights, keeping their son and daughter safe. They now live in the muggle world on a remote farm somewhere in Scotland, the Stark family's origin. Fiona McCaffrey and Fergus Stark met when they both attended Hogwards and have been together ever since their fifth year.
While her younger siblings all have Scottish names, Liana was named after Fiona's mother, Liana Rose McCaffrey, who had died during Voldemort's first war.
Even though she knew so many things about witches, wizards and Hogwards, Liana was very insecure and yet very curious when she first got into the School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. However, now in her forth year, nothing is quite new to her anymore. However, she loves coming to Hogwards because she loves the old castle and all the adventures that she, her brother and her friends get into. Isabelle Stark, Liana's cousin is now in her third year and very close to Liana and Josie, Liana's best friend. Liana's younger brother Ean just got into his second year at Hogwards and mostly keeps away from his sister, embarrassed to be seen with her just like every other boy his age, even though they do have a close relationship.
Liana is quite good at charms and transfiguration spells, even though she'd much rather want to learn spells that help her protect others. Still, she can hardly wait to see what adventures lie ahead of her this year.
“Curiosity is not a sin.... But we should exercise caution with our curiosity... yes, indeed.”
